Ah, the oil change. The last thing on our to-do list and seldom thought about in your busy lives. Yet, it is of utmost importance. It does so much to ensure that our vehicles can run efficiently and smoothly. It collects all the debris and contaminants that would otherwise wreak havoc on your prized ride. So, how often does it need to be done? It may seem quite random, but it's not. If you check your oil regularly (like you should-but who does?) then you can keep an eye on the color. It should be about the transparency of your cooking oil. If it's black or looks "sludgy" then it's time to take it into your oil change specialist. You can also go by your owner's manual, which will usually tell you when it should be serviced-normally around 6000 miles or so. Don't put off what you can do today.
